Change sometimes seems so elusive when you are stuck in a destructive pattern or lifestyle but that's where Change For Life, Addiction therapy and counselling can help, it can give everyone that wants help, the support and skills to achieve this. Although specialising in Addiction Kathy also offers one to one counselling.

What is Addiction therapy and how does it work?
Everyone that is seeking help for their addiction or addictive patterns, whether this is Alcohol, Narcotics, Prescription medication, Gambling, food etc we can offer the help that is needed. Kathy offers a wide range of interventions and techniques that are carefully chosen at the consultation stage to benefit each and everyone individually. This is all discussed at the consultation so that the individual has choices and together with Kathy can plan the way forward. So often we are set in destructive patterns that on a conscious level we know seem wrong and unhelpful in our lives and we wonder why we continue to do the same things? These are often reflections of past behaviours and patterns that were set when we were children, these are no longer helpful in adulthood and with help can be modified to release these old patterns and replace them with new and helpful ways to live. Ever wondered why you desperately wanted to loose weight? yet after 3 weeks (or 3 days!) returned to your previous eating patterns if not worse? And then put on more weight? Well this isn't about dieting! This is about patterns and perception and with behavioural modification approaches can be changed! To free you of that battle.
Whether you need help with addiction or any other problem we can offer you the time and space you need to work through these.

Consultation
The consultation is an important first step where it allows you as an individual to express what you would like to gain help with from your counsellor and for your counsellor to take some history and facts about what is happening in your life. This takes from an hour to an hour and a half and is in a relaxed atmosphere where confidentiality is assured.
After the initial consultation a program or set of counselling sessions will be made at your convenience for the forth coming weeks, or however long you feel you need the help and support. If you feel you need to talk to Kathy before the first appointment then she will call you back at your convenience for an informal chat. Together there is change and this is Change for Life!
